Porsche EFP – Safety RTE for the Electronic Chassis Platform
Kickoff → SOP
The Electronic Chassis Platform (EFP, “Elektronische Fahrwerkplattform”) is the central chassis ECU in the Volkswagen Group (MLBevo / E3), used in vehicles such as the Porsche Cayenne. Responsible for configuring and integrating the Safety Runtime Environment (RTE) throughout the entire project – from the initial configuration to the production software baseline. Configuration and integration of the AUTOSAR basic software with EB tresos, implementation and assurance of the safety requirements per ISO 26262, and integration of the software components into the overall software.
Technical lead for model-based HMI software development throughout the V-model development lifecycle: requirements analysis and specification, modeling in MATLAB/Simulink, and code generation with TargetLink through to verification and validation.
Electric power steering – safety-critical software module
Kickoff → SOP
Component lead engineer for the “ActuatorSupervision” component (ASIL D): defined system requirements, derived software requirements, implemented the software in C, and performed verification and validation together with the test management team. Previously model-based development of customer functions with MiL/SiL/PiL testing. Customers included JTEKT, MANDO, Volkswagen and Audi.
CAirS is Continental’s highly integrated air supply module (compressor, valve block and ECU in a single housing), in series production since 2018 – first in the Bentley Continental GT. Model-based development and integration of AUTOSAR application software with a focus on the Safety RTE. Defined the requirements for the “ServiceManager,” modeled components, generated and integrated code. Built a framework for the customer to standardize software development; HiL testing and in-vehicle testing. Customers included BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Honda and NIO.
Freelance engagement since July 2025: analysis and management of business requirements, development of automation solutions with Python and Excel, verification and validation, and stakeholder alignment to optimize data-driven processes.

I’m an engineer based in Fulda, Germany, and for more than 15 years I have been developing safety-critical software for vehicles – from initial requirements through to in-vehicle testing. I have been working as a freelancer since July 2025, and since 2026 with my own website at engineerio.de.
I work in a structured and transparent way: clear requirements, clean interfaces and results that hold up in the audit and in the vehicle. I quickly get up to speed with existing processes and international teams – in German, English or Russian.
What drives me are complex systems that ultimately work reliably – and people who grow together along the way. That’s why I enjoy sharing my knowledge, whether as a mentor for junior developers or, in my free time, as youth director at my local soccer club. My standard: requirements everyone understands, software that demonstrably works, and a partnership you can rely on.
